RTStand – HiL Features

Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) is testing technique used for complex, mostly embedded, systems, where the complexity is simulated by a mathematical model. HiL increases not just the quality of testing, but also enables faster testing times and flexible development of testing scenarios, even such when human intervention would be of high-risk. In many applications, especially in automotive and aviation, actual in-vehicle tests would be too time-consuming and thus too expensive. The testing variables would not be repoducible, not complying with quality requirements.

RTStand is an open HiL test and simulation platform, based on National Instruments technology and software (NI LabVIEW, NI TestStand and NI VeriStand), with 3rd party software and hardware integration capabilities. This not only makes it perfect for Internet-of-Things (IoT) applications, but allows its use for the whole range of testing needs: from development, functional, validation and production tests.
